On 28 March 2025, the operator of EHang’s EH216-S 2-seat unpiloted eVTOL obtained the unmanned aircraft system operator certificate (OC) issued by CAAC, which makes EH216-S the world’s first eVTOL being legal and ready for commercial operation. However the OC imposes certain limitations on the operation such altitude and flight distance. The limitations of both the OC and the eVTOL’s performance such as flight duration and range make sightseeing the most feasible use case for EH216-S in foreseeable future. Now let’s wait for the ticket price and the market reaction of taking off in an eVTOL for sightseeing!
